Overview to the Voice Mail System


All profiles / adverts on the system can now have their own private voice mailbox that can be accessed with a telephone. This allows advertisers to provide a spoken message that visitors to your advert can listen to and leave you a message.

 

How do I set-up my voice mailbox?


It couldn't be simpler. On your profile editor you will now see a Voice Mail identifier and a PIN number. Make a note of these two numbers (your five digit profile number and the four digit PIN number) and then use your telephone to call the "administrator" number, 0871 222 0917, and follow the spoken instructions. (This should cost no more than about 10 pence as it is a normal national rate number)

To collect your messages you need to call 0871 222 1621 if you need any further help please call the help line which is also a normal national rate call 0871 2221612

Once you have set-up your Voice Mailbox, your profile on the Web site will automatically be updated. Your advert will then show the "with voice mail" flag when searched. In addition to this, your adverts "modification date" will be updated so that the profile is "refreshed". That means your advert will appear higher up when searched for.

One last advantage to having Voice Mail is that you can then join the Web Of Trust system which allows for people viewing adverts to have an increased confidence level as to your credentials.

 

How much will I be charged when I use the "administrator" telephone numbers?


When you call the "administrator" numbers to either set-up your Voice Mailbox, re-record your message or collect messages that visitors have left you, the telephone rate is standard national rates that your telephone provider would charge for a normal call. The "administrator" number is NOT a premium rate number.

 

How much will I be charged to listen to other advert messages?


When using the telephone number shown on the adverts section, 0909 927 2503, to listen to other advertisers messages and leave messages for others, the call will cost 50 UK pence per minute.

 

Some general advice


Before setting up your Voice mailbox, it's worth spending a little time working out just what you would like to say in your message to others. It may help for you to write down your message so that when recording time comes you will be comfortable with what you are going to say.

If you are a couple, make sure you both speak so that people listening to your advert will know you are both genuine. An advert that says they are a couple and then only the male leaves a message could be construed as suspicious and will attract very little attention.

If, at a later date, you want to change your message just call the "administrator" number, again having your five digit profile number and your four digit PIN number, and you can re-record your message at any time.

You are strongly advised not to put your home telephone number, address or any personal details of that nature into your Voice Mail message. These details can be swapped at a later date by other means when you are confident of the people you are communicating with.
